Lunch Buddies is a tried and true mentoring program that's proven to make a difference in the lives of students in under-resourced schools. The program costs around $1500 per year to administer and the results are life changing.
The program was partially developed by former Principal Cindi Hemm of Eugene Field Elementary School. Cindi wrote the book, Miracle on Southwest Boulevard about her experience implementing community mentoring at her elementary school.
You can replicate these results in the lives of young people at your church or workplace.
OK Appleseed Board Member Tom Hillis has been working with his church to build up the mentoring program in Tulsa Public School Anderson Elementary. Our team has been developing material to help community workplaces and churches who want to replicate the program. Contact us for our help customizing the program to your needs.
We are developing a toolkit for workplaces and churches to implement this program and it will be posted here soon.
